Aciphex Uses

AcipHex (Rabeprazole) comes as a delayed-release (long-acting) tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day for 4 to 8 weeks, but it is sometimes taken for a longer time. When taken for ulcers, AcipHex should be taken after the morning meal.Aciphex is available for oral administration as delayed-release, enteric-coated tablets. The recommended adult oral dose is one Aciphex 20 mg delayed-release tablet to be taken once daily for four to eight weeks. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Do not break, chew, or split the tablets. Swallow them whole. They are specially formulated to release slowly in your body

Aciphex Side Effects

AcipHex may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

Aciphex Pregnancy

Teratogenic Effects. Pregnancy Category B: Teratology studies have been performed in rats at intravenous doses up to 50 mg/kg/day (plasma AUC of 11.8µg•hr/mL, about 13 times the human exposure at the recommended dose for GERD) and rabbits at intravenous doses up to 30 mg/kg/day (plasma AUC of 7.3µg•hr/mL, about 8 times the human exposure at the recommended dose for GERD) and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to rabeprazole. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
